Congratulations, Chris!

Dr. Chris Erb, our Postdoctoral Fellow for the last three years, recently accepted a tenure-track
position in the School of Psychology at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. During his
time with us, Chris established a series of projects that measured reaching movements and
reaction time exhibited by children and adults to understand the development of attention and
decision-making. He also had the opportunity to collaborate with additional faculty in our
department, Drs. Dayna Touron and Michael Kane as well as mentor undergraduate research
assistants.

If you or your children played a computer game at the DUCK Lab while wearing a small sensor
on your finger, then you have helped contribute to Chris’ success!
Of his time in Greensboro, Chris says, “my three years here at UNCG have been better than I
could have imagined. Greensboro has an incredible sense of community and this sense of
community has been illustrated by all the families that have supported our research in the DUCK
Lab. I owe so much to UNCG, the DUCK Lab, and our DUCK Lab families.”

Chris is looking forward to joining a department with emphases in both developmental
psychology and cognitive neuroscience to expand his research program and is excited to work
with his own graduate students in this new position.

In the coming year, Chris will be setting up his own research lab at this top-ranked New Zealand
university and settling into life in a new city. He is particularly looking forward to the vibrant
food and beverage scene and ample outdoor opportunities in beautiful New Zealand. Although
we will miss Chris here at the DUCK Lab, we are very excited for him to begin this new
academic adventure and wish him the best!
